Acceptable use policy
Last updated: 2026-05-23
This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) defines what you can and cannot do with a SimVendor Hosting game server. Violations may result in suspension or termination with no refund.
You may not
- Use the server for any unlawful purpose under the laws of Portugal, the EU, or your country of residence.
- Host or distribute malware, ransomware, viruses, exploits, or any code intended to harm other systems.
- Launch attacks (DDoS, brute force, scanning, etc.) against any other system from a SimVendor Hosting server.
- Host pirated game content, leaked mods, or copyrighted material you don't have rights to distribute.
- Attempt to bypass SimVendor Hosting's mod-protection layer — extracting, decrypting, or redistributing SimVendor mod content beyond what's legitimately served to game clients.
- Resell SimVendor Hosting servers as if they were your own service without explicit written permission.
- Mine cryptocurrency or run unrelated compute workloads on the game server.
- Run torrent trackers, public proxies, VPN exit nodes, or anything that's not a game server.
- Sustain CPU or network usage that materially impacts other tenants on the same host.
- Host content that's explicitly sexual involving minors, promotes violence against any group, or constitutes harassment under applicable law.
- Impersonate SimVendor Hosting staff, SimVendor staff, or any third party in your server's name or in-game presence.
You're responsible for
- Behavior of players on your server. Moderating chat and acting on legitimate abuse reports is your job.
- Licensing of any mods or content you upload. We act on credible DMCA / copyright complaints.
- The Steam account credentials you provide for SteamCMD-based installs. Don't use shared or stolen accounts.
- Securing your own SimVendor Hosting dashboard account.
How we enforce
- Tier 1 (warning) — minor or unintentional violations. Email asking you to fix.
- Tier 2 (suspension) — repeated or serious violations. Server suspended; files preserved. Reinstate after you fix.
- Tier 3 (termination) — egregious or illegal activity. Server terminated, files deleted, account closed. No refund. Reported to authorities if criminal.
- For attacks from your server, we may take it offline within seconds without prior notice; we'll explain after.
Email [email protected] with the server IP and a description. We respond within 24h on business days, often faster for active attacks.
